Worldbeat Club Mondial ♪♫♪ November 2016

November 12, 2016 - It was time to warm up from the almost freezing cold outside at "Club Mondial" hosted by World Beat Bremen e. V., sponsored by Funkaus Europa and held at Mensa Academia courtesy of the Bremen University of Arts - Music Branch. When I arrived I was quite surprised to find a young man charging entrance fees sitting outside! I later learnt that he is a polar explorer (scientist)!

Please check out the flyer for the DJ-listing. The crowd was a mix of ages, nationalities and temperaments, a lot of whom didn't want to be photographed. I always do my best to not capture you if you don't want to be seen in the pictures.

Here are some sound-samples of the night:

The next event is on Saturday, December 10, 2016. I do hope to be able to take pictures of you there! If not - please say "hello - but no photos please!" :-)

As announced previously, I will no longer be posting slide shows of my photos but will post a link to the respective album on my Facebook Photopage below where you can see the photos even if you are not on Facebook:

Come Together

On November 5, 2016 I was asked to take some pictures at a "Come Together" organised by the Kenyan organisation CHAMA CHA UMOJA e. V. in Bremen at Schaulust, quite a large venue near the Main Station in the city centre.

When I arrived at the party I was greeted by a big cheer and met more people of the Kenyan community here in Bremen. They showed me around the place and offered me the food they had prepared. I had a very good time talking and taking pictures of the most sweet and kind people and some cool cats in suits. :-)

Dan Safari, a local Kenyan artist was also present. Unfortunately, I had to miss his appearance as I had to leave before this segment of the night.

Caribbean Night at Docks

Once again, the lovely Anna and Robby John of Cranic Production invited me to photograph their event this time in cooperation with Badda Badda called "Caribbean Night" on the famous Reeperbahn in Hamburg on October 29!

On the main floor the following three sound systems were playing some boom sounds and created a great atmosphere with many forwards and a massive that was ready to move! They were:

Dial Tone Empire (London/Grenada)

On the 2nd floor Crucial Vibes Soundsystem (Hamburg)
was dedicating the whole night to foundation vibes in a very relaxed setting though this room is wall to wall with the main hall. To be honest, I had trouble finding it at first because I could not believe that the sound would be so clear cut in such close proximity.

The giant lion head which was kindly provided by Club Docks was the center piece of the stage again and the lighting technician was orchestrating a brilliant light show throughout the night. If you know anything about photography, you will know that light is the most important factor and so I was happy to incorporate those effects in my photos.

Backstage there was food, cooked by the host himself, fruit and some home made rum drink for those who wanted to have a taste of something unique. Of course, I don't drink so I could not say if it was good or not. ;-) The food was delicious though!

As it was Halloween Night, you will see a couple of people with great make-up and in costumes.
